Join AlphaSense's Strategic Sales team as a Strategic Account Executive, focusing on expanding relationships with top financial services clients in the U.S. and Canada. You will collaborate with the Global Strategic Account Director to develop and execute growth strategies, targeting key personas within these accounts (Investor Relations, Competitive Intelligence, and Corporate Development). This role demands strong consultative selling skills, executive-level relationship building, and the ability to manage complex enterprise sales. You will be responsible for upselling existing clients, prospecting new opportunities, and working closely with internal teams to ensure client success. This is a high-growth opportunity to contribute significantly to AlphaSense's continued success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and experience selling B2B SaaS solutions to financial services corporations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant sales experience with a B2B SaaS solution and a customer network selling to our Corporate Personas: Investor Relations, Competitive Intelligence, and Corporate Development
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets; we maintain a team of top sales performers and a great winning culture
- Reputation for consistently delivering results and setting the example for work ethic, initiative, enthusiasm, and commitment
- Excellent at building C Level and Senior business relationships with clients
- You build trust and credibility with key stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers and are focused on creating long term partnerships with the client
- Strong Consultative Selling skills
- Ability to listen actively, ask insightful questions, and uncover the real needs of the client, becoming a trusted partner
- Use your knowledge of the industry, competitive environment, and client experiences to identify trends and stay ahead of customer needs
- Partner with the global sales team to build and execute a strategic client growth plan for your designated book of accounts
- You own the sales plan for the Corporate personas in partnership with the Strategic Account Director and the Account Executives in the other global regions, driving deals forward and delivering revenue against target
- Execute a long-term account strategy supported by short- and mid-term action plans, combining a transactional sales approach with an enterprise-level mindset
- Skilled in cold calling and prospecting across a client base to build a strong pipeline—identifying the right opportunities, accessing key stakeholders across the organization, and building influence and advocacy to enable complex enterprise sales
- Partner with our Global Customer Success, Sales Development and Product Specialist teams to deliver strong growth across a defined client base
- Conduct product demonstrations in a value-based sales environment
- An energetic and creative individual, possessing natural curiosity with the ability to learn quickly
- Strong ability to develop rapport with new people, and to maintain relationships, combined with a positive, outgoing personality
- Outstanding communicator, whether in presentations or casual conversations, and can convey value propositions clearly across all levels of an organization
- Able to distill and explain complex issues in simple terms
- Experience hitting six-figure or seven-figure revenue targets on an annual basis
- Able to travel to clients on a regular basis
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the strategy and end-to-end sales processes to expand AlphaSense’s most strategic Financial Services accounts across Investor Relations, Competitive Intelligence, Corporate Development and other Corporate personas globally
- Become an expert on corporate customer needs and use cases, market dynamics, company capabilities, competitive landscape, and product differentiation
- This role is focused on upselling existing client relationships, requiring you to research opportunities, initiate discussions, prospect new teams, conduct demos, manage product trials, and close sales
- Develop strong internal relationships, garnering buy in from those you partner with and marshaling resources to deliver on revenue outcomes
- Partner with our SDR team to create prospecting plans and drive pipeline and work closely with our Product Specialist team during trials to ensure client engagement
- Work closely with Account Management to ensure customer health throughout the contract term, as well as closing sourced upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Gather and pass on information on market and client product needs to sales, product management, content, and product marketing to help us continually enhance our products
- Forecast accurately and develop the necessary pipeline to meet/exceed quota
