Summary
Join Monte Carlo's growing Sales Engineering team as a Strategic Sales Engineering Manager, playing a pivotal role in driving sales efforts across customer segments. Lead a high-performing team, shape the company's POV strategy, and build key customer relationships. This fully remote role, based anywhere in North America's East/Central US, reports to the Head of Field Engineering. You will evangelize a category with enormous potential, hire and develop a sales engineering team, and report on team results. The role requires creating POV and expansion playbooks, building partnerships with sales leadership, and understanding team challenges to ensure success.
Requirements
- 3+ years of recent experience directly managing a team of enterprise sales engineers in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
- 10+ years of full-cycle, B2B sales engineering experience in complex software sales; a successful track record of winning new business at the enterprise and strategic level
- Sales engineering experience in the data sector required. Understanding of at least some of the following: cloud data warehousing, data lakes, ETL concepts and workflows, BI solutions, and SQL
- Strategic account experience - Global 2000, companies with over 10,000 employees, working long sales cycles
Responsibilities
- Evangelize a category with enormous potential
- Hire and develop a team of high-performing sales engineers
- Regularly report on team and individual results through inspection and forecasting
- Identify and make recommendations for improvement in the areas of process, efficiency, and productivity
- Create POV and expansion playbooks to land net new deals and expand within the customer base
- Build tight partnerships with sales leadership further to define a successful and repeatable sales and expansion process
- Understand the challenges facing the team and clear the way to allow for success
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in startup environments is strongly preferred
- Experience working with consumption-based models
- Experience leading through change and driving successful outcomes in a fast-paced environment
