Systems Engineer

Summary

Requirements

• Experience in system engineering, systems administration or a related role
• Proven experience administering and customising Atlassian Jira and Confluence
• Understanding of SaaS solutions and cloud technologies
• Keen problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Administer and customise Jira, Confluence, and other SaaS platforms to meet business needs
• Manage user provisioning, identities, permissions, and roles within SaaS platforms
• Ensure the platforms are optimised for performance and user experience
• Work closely with IT teams and stakeholders to implement, support, and enhance SaaS platforms
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Jira, Confluence, and other SaaS tools
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for SaaS processes and solutions
• Evaluate new SaaS solutions to determine their fit for organisational needs
• Lead the onboarding process, including configuration, integration, and automation
• Develop and maintain integrations between SaaS platforms and other systems
• Utilise API tools to automate processes and improve efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Atlassian certified Jira Administrator
• ITIL/ITSM Accreditation or similar qualifications
• Proficiency in scripting and API tools for integration and automation
• Experience with other Atlassian tools such as Confluence, OpsGenie, Assets

• Location: This role is hybrid, with one day a month minimum working from our IT and Marketing office Janet Nash House, Durham (DH7 8RJ). Additional business travel may be required in specific circumstances, or where current commercial strategies/initiatives require it
