Summary
Join May Mobility's Finance team as a Tax Senior Manager, overseeing tax compliance and reporting. You will direct federal and state tax reporting, monitor tax law changes, and drive process improvements within the company's tax function. This role requires strong tax accounting expertise, experience managing a team, and excellent communication skills. Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of general tax and/or accounting experience
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or equivalent experience
- Certified Public Accountant license (CPA)
- Experience with managing a team
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional problem-solving, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills skills
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to diplomatically approach team members to discuss sensitive financial matters
- Ability to use professional judgment to escalate matters when necessary
- Flexibility and ability to display sound judgment while operating in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Direct the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements
- Monitor and analyze tax regulatory and compliance developments and tax law changes and document the impact to the Company, including federal and state
- Preparation and review of supporting calculation work papers for federal and state income tax returns
- Monitor tax law changes and determining impact to company
- Driving improvements to the company's overall tax position and assisting with special projects as needed
- Establish and drive tax initiatives for the company
- Research and prepare responses to state notices
- Develop and implement process improvements, and build out our internal tax function
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and provide analytical support for all tax and treasury related activities
- Manage processes related to cash and investments, debt, and treasury with oversight of debt and treasury compliance processes aligned with internal policies
- Make recommendations to management on various treasury related decisions and escalate treasury matters for attention of management
- Facilitate any treasury related system implementation, new bank relationship initiations, and other activities to leverage efficiencies in treasury and accounts payable activities
- Play a key role in public company readiness, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal control enhancements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Netsuite ERP
- Experience with legal entity structure analysis
- Experience with entities involved in active fundraising activities
