Summary

The job is for a technical leader in Epic Games' Governance and Platform Infrastructure (GPI) organization. The primary responsibility is to build and maintain technical alignment and partnerships with internal and external teams, drive initiatives, mentor engineers, and ensure high-quality tools. Requirements include a proven track record of leading engineering teams or cultures, strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of modern developer platforms and industry standards, deep understanding of cloud technologies, especially Amazon Web Services, and a desire to jump into the weeds and do engineering work as needed.

Requirements

• A proven track record of driving technical leadership of high performing engineering teams or cultures
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across teams to understand technical and non-technical needs from diverse stakeholders
• Knowledge of modern developer platforms and industry standards for developer tooling and practices
• Deep understanding of cloud technologies, especially Amazon Web Services
• An ability to drive a long term vision for improving cloud infrastructure and services through continual iterative improvements
• A desire and willingness to jump into the weeds and do engineering work as needed to deliver strategic outcomes for the organization

Responsibilities

• Your primary responsibility will be technical leadership of Epic’s Governance and Platform Infrastructure (GPI) organization with a focus on building technical alignment and partnerships with external and internal engineering and product teams and technical leaders
• Be accountable for building and maintaining technical alignment and partnerships with teams and technical leaders within GPI
• Drive the outcomes, delivery and execution of strategic initiatives within GPI
• Build, grow, and mentor an engineering team that balances technical expertise with customer focus and a growth mindset to deliver consistently
• Partner closely with product management, software engineering, and cloud engineering teams to ensure that your roadmap is appropriately prioritized to drive meaningful outcomes
• Maintain a high bar for the quality and operational health of the tools that our teams build and define the metrics used to measure the effectiveness of our systems
