Join Chainguard, a leader in secure open-source software, as a Technical Program Manager. You will lead complex engineering projects, collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements and guide projects through their lifecycle. Responsibilities include prioritizing program goals, defining project scope, monitoring key metrics, and identifying corrective actions. You will also manage the daily operations of the Image Fulfillment department, overseeing order processing, quality assurance, and delivery. Strategic responsibilities involve forecasting, capacity planning, and driving strategic projects to improve Chainguard's image/package building capabilities. The ideal candidate possesses 5 years of program management and software development experience.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in program management
- 5 years of experience with software development best practices and establishing methods, tools, and process improvements for cross-team initiatives
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact
- Prioritize program goals, understand and translate stakeholdersβ needs into program goals and prioritize deliverables
- Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, and/or manage project plans for the supported program(s)
- Review key metrics about a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations
- Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals
- Manage the daily operations of the Image Fulfillment department, including order entry, processing, prioritization, issue resolution, scheduling, quality assurance, and delivery
- Develop and implement processes for smooth and efficient order handling
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Engineering and Product teams concerning image fulfillment processes; this includes leading daily stand-up meetings and moderating relevant communication channels
- Supervise and manage the performance of engineering contractors involved in image fulfillment
- Conduct order forecasting and capacity planning to ensure adequate resources for efficient operations. This involves estimating the number of engineers needed for handling parallel image orders
- Identify, propose, and drive strategic projects for Chainguard's Image/package building aspect. For instance, collaborate with the Product team to ensure comprehensive coverage of all packages in RHEL 9, facilitating easier migration for prospects
