Summary

Join Marqeta as a Technical Program Manager to lead technical workstreams and initiatives, coordinating engineering teams to deliver complex projects. Drive projects from concept to completion, managing scope, schedule, and resources; identify and mitigate risks; and facilitate communication across teams. Lead technical planning, estimation, and prioritization, documenting decisions and ensuring stakeholder alignment. Provide regular status updates, remove obstacles, and balance technical tradeoffs with business needs. This Flexible First role, based remotely in the Greater Toronto Area, offers a competitive salary (CAD 85,400-106,800), annual bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of technical program/project management experience
  • Strong understanding of relevant technologies, software development methodologies and processes (S-SDLC)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and development practices
  • Ability to understand complex technical systems and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical projects from concept to completion, managing scope, schedule, and resources
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and issues; develop mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, product, design, and business teams
  • Lead technical planning, estimation, and prioritization sessions
  • Document technical decisions and ensure alignment across stakeholders
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership and remove obstacles for engineering teams
  • Balance technical tradeoffs with business requirements and timelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant certification
  • Experience with project management tools (Jira, Asana, etc.)
  • Data analysis and visualization skills
  • Experience in electronic payments and accounting systems
