Technical Writer

Summary

The job description is for a Technical Writer position at GHX, a healthcare SaaS company. The role involves creating technical documents, working with various teams to develop documentation, and conducting needs analysis with internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in help authoring tools, standard Windows-based applications, source control solutions, collaboration software, screen-capture technology, flowcharts or diagrams tool, and eCommerce or web-based application experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, or combination of education and equivalent work experience
• 3+ years related experience performing technical writing/editing
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Excellent interviewing skills
• Customer-driven attitude and demeanor
• Proficiency and knowledge of working with various types of systems and system interfaces
• Ability to quickly synthesize new technology and present it in a simple, meaningful manner
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Able to work in a team environment with all levels of personnel

Responsibilities

• Exhibits proficiency in writing and/or editing technical documents, user instructions, data flow diagrams, proposals, and release communications
• Plans, develops, organizes, writes, and edits content for online Help, product guides, job aids, implementation guides, release notes, and web content for internal and external customers
• Researches and gathers technical and background information for inclusion in product documentation
• Participates in product development and reviews to ensure GHX software products are easy to use
• Conducts needs analysis with internal stakeholders to identify teams’ needs
• Works with technical staff to develop documentation requirements
• Supports translation process for education deliverables, as requested

Preferred Qualifications

• ECommerce or web-based application experience
• Healthcare industry, supply chain, or purchasing experience
• Language translation knowledge (for example, English to German)
