Join OCT Consulting, LLC, an SBA-certified 8(a) small business, as a Technical Writer. You will leverage your 6+ years of federal acquisition and procurement experience to document processes, identify improvements, and create SOPs. Responsibilities include reviewing workflows, writing technical documentation, gathering performance data, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The position requires excellent writing skills, a strong understanding of federal acquisition concepts, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. Work is primarily remote or at the Tyson's Corner, VA office, with occasional travel to Washington D.C. Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer; excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong understanding of federal acquisition concepts and ability to translate them into concise language
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to obtain or obtain a Public Trust Clearance; the security process may involve a credit, fingerprint, and law enforcement agency check
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical source for agency specific acquisition policies and procedures
- Review and analyze acquisition process workflows to identify avoidable delays, redundancies, and improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement clear, concise SOPs for new and improved processes, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- Write, edit, and proofread technical documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Gather data and metrics to measure performance and benchmark against prescribed agency practices
- Ensure acquisition processes and procedures comply with federal regulations and agency policies
- Identify, implement, and evaluate process improvements to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Operate under general administrative supervision with the expectation of working independently and presenting findings to executive personnel
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Familiarity with the FAR and USAID policies, federal contracting procedures, and procurement processes, particularly closeouts
