Summary

Join CannonDesign's multi-disciplinary team as an entry-level engineer, working on diverse projects in education, healthcare, and commercial sectors. Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field by hire date required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the preparation of construction documents and basic specifications of telecommunications systems for building construction
  • Under direct supervision, may design telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems per applicable codes
  • Develop ability to analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts with engineering oversight
  • Under supervision develop knowledge of applicable codes for the application of telecommunication design
  • Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts
  • Assists in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals
  • Assists in gathering information to respond to RFI’s and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents
  • Assists in visiting job site to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site
  • May perform other duties as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT/FE preferred
  • Related student internship work experience preferred
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, Navisworks or similar applications) preferred
