Summary

Join Team Rubicon as a Technology Operations Specialist II and apply your technical expertise to solve complex challenges across the organization. This remote position, based in Southern California, offers a flexible schedule and opportunities for professional growth within a rapidly expanding disaster response organization. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, analyzing recurring problems, and leading change management efforts. Travel is required approximately four times a year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years in a technical implementation, support, or systems engineering role - preferably in a nonprofit, NGO, or social impact context
  • Demonstrated ability with Service Desk ticketing platforms such as (Jira Service Management, Zendesk, Freshdesk, etc.)
  • Experience working with CRM, ERP, or data collection tools (Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, etc.)
  • Comfort with Project Management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Planner, or Asana
  • Passion for social good, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to grow

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues that escalate beyond Tier 1 and 2 support
  • Analyze recurring issues and incidents to identify root causes and partner with developers on implementing long-term fixes
  • Design, configure, and implement workflows, systems, and tools to meet programmatic, donor, and operational needs, while optimizing and automating processes across tech and the broader organization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional staff and end-users to understand objectives, define scope, and design effective technical solutions that align with organizational goals
  • Analyze recurring problems to identify root causes and propose long-term fixes
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure seamless rollout and user adoption of new technologies, workflows, and systems
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and manage bug fixes and enhancements
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with data privacy best practices

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with automation tools (e.g. Power Automate, Zapier)
