Transcription Team Manager

Summary

Join Productive Playhouse as a remote, project-based Transcription Team Manager! Oversee a team of 7-10 transcribers working on long-form audio transcription projects. Responsibilities include monitoring team progress, providing invoices, assisting with hiring, administering language tests, training transcribers, and troubleshooting issues. Compensation is based on audio minutes transcribed, reviewed, and managed, with additional pay for language verification grading. Enjoy flexible hours and the ability to work remotely. Requirements

• Full proficiency in the Maba language (ISO: Mde )
• Professional work experience in Linguistics, Translation, Transcription or localization, strongly preferred
• Proficiency in computer and internet skills
• Competency on both MAC and PC platforms, Microsoft Applications, and G Suite
• Strong grammar, orthography, and punctuation skills; a proficiency test will be required
• Responsive with timely email access
• Effective web search skills
• Ability to onboard within two weeks

Responsibilities

• Regular and prompt communication in English
• Monitoring team progress and performance, while ensuring timely project completion
• Providing invoices and invoicing summaries
• Assist in hiring and onboarding transcribers, while following company-established onboarding procedures
• Administering and grading language verification tests, as well as revising and enhancing tests as needed
• Training and providing support for transcribers
• During down time, utilize company transcription program to transcribe alongside transcribers to help progression of project
• Troubleshoot alongside Team Services Manager and department Operations Coordinator to resolve any issues reported by transcribers during their work, such as bad data, technical issues, etc
