Summary
Join Wattpad's Brand Safety Team as a Trust & Safety Compliance Associate and contribute to platform compliance projects ensuring user and content safety. You will collaborate with trust and safety professionals to create a safe user experience. This role involves responding to compliance inquiries, managing data privacy initiatives, conducting data access reviews, researching evolving legislation, documenting privacy practices, and building relationships with stakeholders. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years of experience in trust and safety (including UGC moderation), proficiency with technology and project management systems, and experience with Zendesk. Requirements
- Education: B.A./B.S. in related fields
- 2+ years' experience in trust and safety or related fields (must have experience in UGC moderation)
- Strong proficiency with technology and online project management systems: SharePoint, MS Office, Airtable
- Must have experience working with Zendesk
- Interested in content policy, compliance, and/or internet governance
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and compliance best practices
Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming compliance inquiries, reports and notices according to defined workflows and procedures
- Support the management of data privacy and protection initiatives, ensuring all user data handling aligns with applicable privacy regulations (such as GDPR, CCPA)
- Conduct regular reviews of data access and processing procedures, identifying potential areas for improvement in data security and privacy
- Research and stay up-to-date with evolving global legislation, regulations, and industry standards related to trust and safety compliance, ensuring ongoing alignment across all markets and adapting policies and procedures as needed
- Assist in documenting privacy practices, policy updates, and user data guidelines to maintain transparency and compliance with evolving privacy standards
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external stakeholders and government authorities
- Coordinate with Policy & Enforcement and Community Operations teams to refer and report relevant matters to law enforcement authorities
