Summary

Join Actian's Customer Experience (CX) team as a User Analytics Intern and contribute to driving user engagement, adoption, and retention for their cloud-based software. You'll work under the guidance of the Senior Director, User Analytics, and collaborate with the broader team to segment the user base, identify key behavior patterns, and develop recommendations to enhance user engagement for their Data Intelligence Platform offering. This 12-week internship program, starting June 2nd, offers structured learning plans, a dedicated buddy, and a focused capstone project culminating in a presentation at the Internship Showcase. The program also includes social events, opportunities to connect with executives, workshops, and leader connects, and a chance to travel for the hybrid orientation.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the Country of Employment

Responsibilities

  • User Behavior Analysis: Leverage Pendo and other tools to track user interactions, identify key engagement metrics, and analyze user journeys
  • Segmentation Development: Define meaningful user segments based on behavioral data, engagement levels, and feature adoption
  • Segment-Specific Optimization: Recommend tailored strategies for each segment, such as personalized onboarding, in-app messaging, and re-engagement campaigns
  • Dashboard & Reporting: Create a proposal for a live dashboard to monitor segment performance over time and track key metrics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Data Science, Business Analytics, Marketing Analytics, or Statistics
  • Coursework or experience in customer segmentation, UX research, or digital marketing analytics, including basic knowledge of cohort analytics, retention metrics and A/B testing
  • Familiarity with Product & User Analytics Tools, such as Pendo, Google Analytics, Amplitude, or Mixpanel to analyze user behavior and engagement
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, or Python (Pandas/NumPy) for data manipulation and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI)
  • Ability to translate data insights into business recommendations and comfortable presenting those insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a focus on storytelling through data

  • Opportunity to travel – we will be hosting a hybrid orientation! For those that are interested in being in person for orientation, we will fly you to your closest resident office
