Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years working as a programmer/analyst in a .NET environment
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years planning and developing universal designs
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in doing digital design, user research, qualitative analysis & synthesis, interaction design
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) yearsโ€™ experience developing web application UX/UI to meet compliance to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at a minimum
  • Must possess a bachelorโ€™s degree
  • Within the last ten (10) years, must provide two (2) current references from previous engagements with other companies or government entities of similar size, scope, and type of service

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an Agile development team
  • Collaborate with the client's team to improve usability, user experience, and user adoption and engagement
  • Conduct interaction design
  • Design and specify user interfaces and information architecture
  • Lead participatory and iterative design activities, including observational studies, and other forms of requirementโ€™s discovery
  • Produce system maps, user scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications
  • Communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale and goals both verbally and visually
  • Plan and facilitate collaborative critiques and analysis and synthesis working sessions
  • Work with development teams to understand product requirements
  • Ensure design specifications are delivered
  • Design and develop primarily internet/web pages and application(s)
  • Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate intuitive user interfaces that consist of web pages with graphics, icons, and color schemes that are visually appealing
  • Gather feedback about concepts, prototypes and finished products and improve interfaces and the user experience as needed from research and testing
  • Coordinate with clients Dev Team to test, and document UI/UX defects or issues during testing
  • Design for Section 508 and departmental accessibility requirements and design and implement interfaces that are usable by a wide variety of people who have very different abilities and backgrounds
  • Translate larger strategic, policy, program and service requirements into clear requirements and compelling experiences
  • Create concepts for what future experiences may work like and illustrate potential scenarios of use in various visual and digital forms
  • Use a mix of text, images, data, sound, animation, and other effects to create interactive communication products as part of a product development team
  • Create wireframes and interface mock-ups
  • Monitor design performance and ensure compliance with guidelines
  • Act as a technical guide and consultant on user experience and interface design
  • Provide both the client's team updates to the interface design requirements, design, implementation, and testing on a regular basis including status, slippages, or roadblocks
  • Identify, analyze, and present on the client's UI/UX related technical aspects of risks, issues, and solutions in all client milestones
  • Work closely with the Project Core Team to understand the project goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, constraints, testing, and implementation
  • Ensure timely completion and quality of User Agreement deliverables
  • Provide a Monthly Activity Report detailing all activities and deliverables worked on and/or completed by the end of the month to the client's CM and PM
  • In collaboration with the PM, review and provide feedback to the client's Project Schedule (Phase III, IV and maintenance) and participate in planning to meet project milestones

Preferred Qualifications

Within the last ten (10) years, must have a minimum of two (2) yearsโ€™ of experience working as part of an Agile team
