Summary
Join Canonical, a leading open-source software provider, as a UX Designer for Infrastructure and Developer Experience. You will work remotely within the EMEA region, collaborating with engineering teams to improve Ubuntu and related tools (MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud, Canonical k8s). This role involves designing user-friendly interfaces for complex systems, ensuring adherence to best practices and web standards. You will need a strong academic background, UX/design experience, and excellent communication skills. Requirements
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Bachelorβs or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or STEM or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path
- Knowledge and passion for user experience, technology and design
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement - curious, flexible, scientific
- Result-oriented with a drive to finish work and celebrate success
- Confidence in user research practices
- Engagement with the latest design research and innovation
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks long
Responsibilities
- Work with exceptional engineering teams at Canonical
- Improve what we deliver to the success of Ubuntu, our partners, customers and the larger Ubuntu community
- Make sure we implement industry best practices, and push the limits of what is possible
- Create clear, stylish presentations that aid the user experience of our products
- Produce designs with real content and information at their core
- Work with a complex mix of engineers, designers and executives
- Represent the company at cross-functional company meetings and present design positions with clarity and precision
- Take on complex design challenges
- Connect design leadership to the strategic vision of the company

Agency, company or freelance design experience
