Summary

Newton is hiring a UX Designer to collaborate with cross-functional teams and enhance the user experience of their cryptocurrency trading platform for Canadians. The role involves creating design solutions, conducting user testing, optimizing user interfaces, and continuously improving designs.

Requirements

• Experience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team and working directly with developers for the implementation of designs
• Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or 5+ years equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
• Proficient in Figma
• Strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter and self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Creating innovative design solutions for a wide variety of product design challenges, including mobile (iOS and Android) and web apps
• Developing high-level, detailed storyboards, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Collaborating with product, engineering, and other departments to brainstorm and create low and high-fidelity mock-ups (in Figma)
• Rapidly iterating - learn about a problem and come up with low-fidelity mock-ups the same day, get feedback, and finalize by the next day to build high-fidelity mock-ups
• Continuously evolving the brand and quality of designs
• Conducting user testing and interviews to understand user needs, expectations, and goals
• Optimizing and simplifying the user experience and the design of the user interface
