Summary

Join ZERO Prostate Cancer as their Vice President, Communications, a remote, full-time, exempt-salaried position. Lead and manage all aspects of internal and external communications, including media relations, to enhance brand awareness. Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with organizational goals. Oversee integrated marketing campaigns, brand identity, vendor relationships, and a high-performing team. Develop and implement organization-wide communication strategies, manage media relations, and ensure consistent brand messaging. This role requires strategic leadership, internal and external communications expertise, brand management, digital communications proficiency, agency management, and performance measurement. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in senior communication roles within the health industry, preferably with non-profit and for-profit brands.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Ten+ years of experience in senior communication roles with a proven track record of success in delivering high-value media placement and increased brand awareness
  • Proven track record of executing integrated marketing strategies with measurable results
  • Experience managing and coaching high-performing teams
  • Expertise in digital marketing, direct response advertising, and CRM systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement organization-wide communication strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Provide strategic counsel to C-suite executives and VP counterparts on communication matters
  • Lead crisis communication efforts and reputation management
  • Oversee internal communication initiatives to foster employee engagement and alignment
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels within the organization
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all departments and levels
  • Manage media relations and serve as a primary spokesperson for the organization
  • Oversee public relations efforts, including press releases, media events, and interviews
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media, key stakeholders, supporters, partners, and community leaders
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all communication channels
  • Oversee the development and implementation of brand guidelines
  • Monitor and protect the organization's brand reputation
  • Lead the development and execution of digital communication strategies, including social media, website content, and online marketing
  • Ensure effective use of digital platforms to engage with target audiences
  • Lead and advise an agency of media relations expert consultants and professionals
  • Manage the communications budget and resources
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives
  • Provide regular reports on communication performance to senior leadership
  • Travel as needed to in-state advocacy events, and conferences and run/walks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
  • Advanced expertise in digital marketing, including analytics-driven strategy, direct response advertising and leveraging CRM platforms for audience engagement
  • Established relationships with national and regional media outlets, as well as familiarity with influencer marketing and social media trends
  • Experience in managing external agencies or media firms to achieve strategic objectives
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams in dynamic environments
