The Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Litigation, Regulatory and Privacy (DGC) will manage a team of legal professionals and handle domestic and international regulatory, litigation, privacy, competition, and compliance matters for a consumer technology company with over 200 million active users. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of consumer protection and privacy matters, experience managing global disputes and regulatory investigations, and exceptional collaboration and communication skills. Location is flexible as remote work is supported. Specific duties include managing global litigation and regulatory matters, developing privacy principles, identifying regulatory trends, coordinating responses to inquiries, building relationships with government officials, and serving as the company's designated spokesperson for external communications. Total cash compensation is targeted between $400,000 - $450,000 and includes an attractive equity grant.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of consumer protection and privacy matters
- Experience managing global disputes and regulatory investigations
Responsibilities
- Managing global litigation and regulatory matters
- Initiating proactive strategic litigation to advance the interests of the company and its users and partners
- Developing and implementing a set of privacy principles to guide the company’s collection, storage, use, and destruction of personal data
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with government officials
- Serving as the company’s designated spokesperson for external communications on regulatory, privacy, and information security topics
