Summary

Join UtilityAPI as a senior leader to drive growth and adoption of our data access platforms. You will develop and execute a strategy for growth through new commercial opportunities, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships. This role involves leading a team (VP level only) and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify key customer segments and business models. The successful candidate will have a strong network in the energy and utilities sectors and a demonstrated history of revenue growth. Requirements

  • Strong network and reputation among utility executives, utility commissioners, administrators, policy makers, and thought leaders in the energy and utilities sectors
  • Demonstrated history of thought leadership and technical knowledge in one or more relevant domains, such as virtual power plants, interconnection, cybersecurity, data privacy, utility enterprise IT/OT, energy markets, energy modeling, and/or data access
  • Demonstrated record of growing revenue/bookings for an energy related product line/business unit
  • Ability to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment balancing multiple competing objectives
  • Experience developing processes and using tools to improve documentation and productivity of go-to-market functions
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Identify, originate, respond to, and develop strategies for new business opportunities with utilities, states, and regional administrators
  • Develop and lead the execution of key business development processes such as collateral development, pipeline tracking, account planning, use case development, and go-to-market strategy
  • Engage with utility and public sector leaders across customer experience, IT, and operations to develop and elevate new use cases for our data access platforms through collaboration and thought leadership
  • Develop strategic partnerships with critical channel and integration partners, such as enterprise utility software providers, system integrators, and management consultants
  • Attend and present at public events, conferences, trade associations, and working groups
  • Act as a voice of the customer in internal conversations on go to market strategy with fellow leaders and the board
  • Lead a team that includes junior and mid-level staff in business development, public sector engagement, and solutions
