Summary

Join Matillion as a Sales Engineering Leader to build and scale their global pre-sales function. Lead a team of sales operations professionals, develop both enterprise and commercial sales engineering teams, and help Matillion scale to $100M+ in revenue over the next 18 months.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of prior enterprise sales engineering leadership experience
  • 6+ years as a 2nd-level leader; prior experience managing employees in globally distributed locations across North America and EMEA preferred
  • Track record of scaling a sales engineering organization with a company growing from $50M - $150M+ in revenue
  • Relevant domain/industry experience preferred; prior experience in the data infrastructure / ETL space is ideal
  • Ability to initiate cross-departmental company initiatives, gathering other experts to accomplish shared goals
  • Proven track record of working closely with Sales, Customer Success, Solution Architecture, Technical Support, and Marketing teams
  • Proven ability to attract, hire, develop, and retain top-tier diversified talent
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Bachelor's degree or MBA preferred from a top university; business or engineering focus is a plus
  • High intellectual horsepower and business acumen
  • Analytical and metrics-driven, regularly leveraging data to support business decisions

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales leaders globally to hire the right team members
  • Develop both our enterprise and commercial sales engineering teams
  • Develop best practices for the technical presales org
  • Identify and drive increasing revenue by optimizing our GTM engine
  • Work closely with partner organizations across sales, customer success, solution architecture/support, and marketing to align our collective GTM strategy across functions
  • Design, unify, and implement best practices and processes across the sales engineering organization globally
  • Act and lead an organization that acts as an accelerant to the sales org; removing technical barriers to deal closure and taking initiative in identifying areas of greater efficiency and optimization in the technical evaluation phase of the sales process
  • Develop a strategic vision to scale and build out the sales engineering organization over time, spanning commercial and enterprise sales engineering, ensuring appropriate segmentation
