Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in surgical scheduling or in a similar administrative role in the healthcare field
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, especially related to surgical procedures
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures efficiently and accurately
• Communicate with patients, surgeons, and other medical staff to confirm surgical dates and ensure all pre-operative requirements are met
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to manage patient information and update surgical schedules
• Verify and confirm patient insurance information and prior authorizations when necessary
• Maintain organization of surgical calendars and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
• Provide excellent customer service to patients inquiring about surgical scheduling and procedures
• Work closely with surgical teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of insurance verification processes is preferred
• A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
