VP of Ad Sales

Join Likewise, a media and entertainment platform, as the VP of Category Ad Sales and build a robust digital ad sales strategy to monetize its growing email newsletter business and discovery platform. Partner with leading marketers to scale a key revenue product, leveraging a highly-engaged audience. The successful candidate will have existing contacts in luxury, auto, travel, finance, fintech, and CPG. This remote position, advertised in LA and NY, requires 10+ years in ad sales, ideally in digital publishing or media, and expertise in selling email newsletter products. The base salary range is $165K to $230K with significant commission potential. Likewise offers comprehensive benefits.

Requirements

• 10+ years in a leading ad sales organization, ideally in digital publishing or media
• Network of leading category marketers and agencies with whom you are currently or very recently pitching and winning deals; relevant verticals include categories such as luxury, auto, travel, finance, fintech, and CPG
• Expertise in selling email newsletter products specifically – either as a standalone or as part of a broader portfolio of sales products
• Ability to manage short & long term revenue targets
• Deep understanding of marketer and client needs and campaign objectives
• Ability to work in unstructured, start-up culture
• Proven senior level experience in sales
• Ability to compellingly pitch deals, structure and negotiate, and close partnerships
• Self-starter, entrepreneurial, scrappy, nose for deals & dollars
• Travel to client meetings as needed

Responsibilities

• Deliver immediate revenue against target plan
• Create and build relationships at key marketers, and associated media agencies
• Ensure Likewise’s email newsletters and discovery platform are top-of-mind during key planning and buying cycle
• Successfully pitch and win new clients; grow existing revenue from current clients
• Compellingly articulate the benefits and unique features of a scaled email newsletter product
• Create marketing and advertising industry awareness of Likewise
• Refine and improve highly polished pitch collateral
• Partner with editorial team around calendar, sponsorable features
• Represent Likewise at advertising industry events
