Requirements

• Experience as a working journalist in newsroom environment
• Proven ability to write news and features using data and case studies to bring stories to life
• Ability to adapt writing style to different formats and audiences
• Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others
• Knowledge of financial markets, investment philosophy and wealth management
• Excellent organisational skills and willingness to take on new challenges
• Right to lawfully work and live in Australia

Responsibilities

• Keep up to date with the latest movements and trends in public and private markets, with a particular focus on developments that are important to retail investors
• Relay and explain those developments to our discerning audience via lively and informative stories furnished with expert commentary, data and case studies
• Use data sets, analysts reports and personal contacts to generate story ideas and find compelling ways to tell those stories
• Explain how developments in politics, economics and markets affect retail investors while maintaining a long list of off-diary story ideas and an equally long list of contacts within the financial advice, investment and shareholder communities
• Develop an unparalleled understanding of how Australians invest at each stage of their lives, and how we can better serve their needs
• Meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment
