Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR/Employee Relations workplace investigations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed and thorough fact finding investigations, including evidence collection, document review, analysis, and interviews, while maintaining objectivity and ensuring confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate (both orally and in writing) complex issues accurately and clearly to internal stakeholders
  • High moral and ethical standards, as well as commitment to conducting investigations with professionalism, impartiality, and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to track, prioritize and drive multiple concurrent investigations
  • Strong problem-solver with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating with people team functions
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRA, and Title VII
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Suite and HR Acuity, and ability to process large volumes of data

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct thorough and objective investigations into potential legal and policy violations within the company, working across borders and jurisdictions as necessary
  • Conduct interviews and prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive reports documenting investigations, factual findings, credibility analyses, and recommendations for corrective actions, issue-spotting any potential legal implications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including human resources, physical security and other internal/external stakeholders, to gather information, coordinate efforts, and ensure consistent and effective investigations
  • Draft and update investigations templates and policies
  • Interpret policies and procedures, incorporating knowledge of state and federal employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRA, and Title VII and equivalent state laws), draft and provide recommendations for potential corrective action, where appropriate
  • Support Employment Legal and Employee Relations data needs via HR Acuity and Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Preference for experience handling investigations in California and familiarity with California state employment laws
  • Previous experience conducting cross-border investigations with a multi-state US focus. Bonus points for experience in Mexico, Canada, or Eastern Europe
