Summary

Join Blavity, Inc. as a tech-savvy Content Writer (AI Researcher) to leverage AI in content creation. You will integrate AI tools into research, drafting, and publishing, reducing production time and expanding creative boundaries. The role requires using AI for information gathering, content outlining, and drafting, while ensuring accuracy and brand consistency. You will optimize content using SEO best practices and collaborate with editors daily. This is a 1099 contractor position requiring at least one year of experience with WordPress or a similar CMS. The role is fully remote, with occasional travel, and requires availability aligned with Eastern Time.

Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree
  • Required Experience : At least 1 year of experience using WordPress or a similar content management system to write, edit, and publish content
  • Familiar with current AP Style rules, best practices for writing online, and basic SEO principles
  • A strong online writing portfolio that shows excellent writing and content creation skills
  • Able to balance the use of automation tools with thoughtful human oversight and creativity
  • Careful and thorough when checking content to avoid misinformation and plagiarism

Responsibilities

  • Use AI tools to quickly gather information and build context for assigned topics
  • Rely on AI to help draft content outlines and tone, while reviewing and refining before editing
  • Carefully fact-check and assess AI-generated content to ensure accuracy, ethics, and brand consistency
  • Optimize all content using basic SEO best practices, including structure, keywords, and performance goals
  • Collaborate with your editor daily on assignments and feedback
  • Deliver 2–3 high-quality, well-thought-out pieces of content each day
  • Stay current on trending news, especially across social media and streaming platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of writing
  • Prior experience updating content or working with a digital publisher
  • Technologies : Fluent in Google Suite, Asana and WordPress CMS or comparable Content Management System
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a positive, can-do approach
  • Comfort performing research to ensure our information is accurate and highly useful to readers
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
  • Motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; willing to wear multiple hats
  • A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture

Benefits
