Accessibility Consultant

Summary

Join Level Access, Inc. as an Accessibility Consultant and help companies build accessible digital systems. You will test and validate user interfaces against accessibility requirements, consult on technical implementation, and collaborate with global teams. Responsibilities include defining test plans, conducting testing using assistive technologies, providing technical consultation, and ensuring quality assurance. This remote role in India requires strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills, excellent communication, and experience in web interface testing. A BS degree in technology or equivalent experience and 4+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are required. Requirements

• Technical Experience - If HTML, JavaScript, and CSS make you want to get out of bed in the morning, this is probably a good job for you. We are looking for someone with a core understanding of web development technologies and how they impact the user experience
• Communicative - You should be able to clearly and effectively communicate with clients in both written and verbal fashion. Written communication should show a high attention to detail. Verbal communication should be formal and indicate the ability to communicate complex topics concisely. Our consulting positions are on the front-line with our customers and it is imperative that you build confidence when speaking with customers. Excels with meeting facilitation skills and the ability to be an effective team player
• Testing Focus - A portion of what you will do involves testing interfaces and validating that they conform to technical requirements. A desire to perform this validation and experience testing web-based interfaces for compliance with design specifications is critical

• BS degree in technology or equivalent work
• 4+ years HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Strong working knowledge of Accessibility framework, i.e., Section 508, EN 349 501, WCAG 2.X

Responsibilities

• Test plan Definition – work with our global teams to determine the boundaries of the testing environment for our clients. The Accessibility Consultant will identify a representative test plan of the user interface components found in the client’s system
• Testing – test client’s systems against specific manual tests and assistive technology tools. As a consultant you will conduct evaluations with our proprietary browser extension – that integrates the business and technical aspects of following the latest accessibility regulations in the industry
• Technical Consultation – You will consult with customers on the proper methods for implementing digital accessibility in systems. This will span a variety of web, mobile, hardware and document systems. This will drive follow-up discussions to create a road map to improve the accessibility and usability of the client’s IT system
• Consistency and Quality Assurance – You will work to support, review and provide a feedback loop, maintaining consistency and quality together with our globally diversified group of accessibility professionals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing user interfaces and PDF documents is a plus
• Understanding general technical operations would be a plus
• Real world experience working with Product and Technology industries is a huge plus
• Mobile Testing – Android and iOS
• Design, Component Libraries and Design Systems
• Web Frameworks – Angular, React, React Native, Flutter, SPA
• Unity, Gaming Engines, Embedded Software, VR, or Hardware i.e., Kiosks, POS
• Document Accessibility – PDF, Word, PowerPoint
