Join Planet as an Account Executive β Government (DACH) and expand our business with the German Federal Government, engage with German federal states, and develop opportunities in Austria and Switzerland. You will work as part of a tight-knit sales team, contributing to a shared team quota. The ideal candidate is a German native speaker with a solid understanding of procurement law and government sales processes in Germany. This full-time position requires approximately 25% travel. Requirements
- 4+ years of sales or business development experience in a relevant field
- Native-level German speaker and fluent in English
- Knowledge of German public procurement law and processes (or willingness to learn quickly)
- A consultative sales mindset with an ability to identify customer needs and craft tailored solutions
- Ability to be resilient, creative, learn quickly, and be highly motivated
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce)
Responsibilities
- Develop and expand business with the German Federal Government and federal states
- Build opportunities in Austria and Switzerland, growing Planetβs public sector presence
- Work closely with the Senior Account Executive, aligning on strategy and execution
- Collaborate with marketing and SDR teams to generate leads and target key stakeholders
- Engage decision-makers and procurement professionals, navigating government sales cycles
- Craft compelling narratives and proposals that align with customer needs
- Lead negotiations and manage contracting processes within public procurement frameworks
- Use Salesforce.com and Clari to track pipeline, forecasts, and key account activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with German government agencies or federal states
- Experience with data-driven sales strategies
- Background in geospatial, satellite technology, or SaaS sales
