Summary

The job is for an Accountant at Datacom in Australia or New Zealand. The role involves overseeing, preparing, and maintaining financial data and reports. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related discipline with 3-5 years of general accounting or audit experience
• Detailed knowledge of general accounting systems, processes and practices
• Ability to deliver accurate and timely financial outputs
• Strong system skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise resource planning software (ERP)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with people at any level in the organisation

Responsibilities

• Record-2-Report activities
• Assisting in the generation of general ledger transactions and subsequent related adjustments
• Supporting the preparation of financial analysis and reports from a profit and loss and balance sheet perspective, while also handling monthly activities including balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting the analysis and review of financial information of discrepancies and variances
• Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures including initiating any actions to reduce write offs and improve efficiencies
• Supporting the preparation of accounting records and financial reports as per Datacom standards, while ensuring all accounting tasks are completed within the set timeframe and addressing any issues as they arise
• Liaising with the broader team to ensure that all reporting standards are appropriately embedded into relevant finance processes, while also performing other accounting duties and supporting the team as required or assigned
