Accountant

Summary

Join our client, a dynamic financial intelligence company, as a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accountant. This remote, full-time position (9 AM - 5 PM EST) requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience in bookkeeping and financial reporting. You will ensure accurate financial records, support client financial needs, and collaborate with tax professionals. The role involves day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, month-end/year-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. Success requires strong communication skills and proficiency with accounting software.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting
• Proven proficiency with QuickBooks or Xero
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and managing accounts payable/receivable
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Utilize accounting software and tools to maintain accurate financial records
• Communicate with clients to address their financial inquiries and provide support

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification or actively pursuing certification
• Experience in SaaS or startup environments
• Familiarity with financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
• Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance
