Join Squishable, a creative team producing plush and lifestyle products, as an Accounting Clerk Contractor! This hybrid role, based in Washington, DC or New York City, supports both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. You will process vendor invoices and payments, manage cash application, and maintain accurate records in NetSuite. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience in a fast-paced retail or e-commerce setting. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP (required)
  • Prior experience supporting retail or eCommerce businesses (required)
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with cloud-based tools (G Suite, Expensify)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Process company payments and expenditures
  • Review and verify employee expense reports and corporate card purchases for compliance
  • Manage correspondence with vendors and creditors regarding payment schedules, outstanding credits, and other inquiries
  • Manage and track rent and utility payments for all locations, including coordination of store openings and closures
  • Maintain accurate, organized records and audit-ready files
  • Assist with other finance-related administrative tasks
  • Support daily cash application and posting of customer payments
  • Monitor and respond to AR tickets and shared finance email inboxes to ensure timely communication
  • Manage retail store cash deposit reporting and compliance follow-up with store teams
  • Assist with other administrative and finance-related duties as assigned
