Accounting & Financial Control Intern

Summary

The job is for an Accounting and Financial Control Intern at Upflow, a fast-growing B2B payments company. The intern will assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, billing management, accounting management, cash collection management, tax monitoring, and financial analysis and projects. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with proficiency in Excel/Google Suite and familiarity with Netsuite or other accounting software.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Proficiency in Excel / Google Suite

Responsibilities

• Financial Close Tracking: Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Billing Management: Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to clients. Monitor and reconcile billing discrepancies
• Accounting Management: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Support daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and transaction recording
• Cash Collection Management: Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments. Implement strategies to improve cash collection efficiency
• Contribute to the development of our product by providing feedback and insights based on cash collection processes
• Liaison with Accountants (US and France): Coordinate with external accountants to ensure compliance with local regulations. Provide necessary documentation and support for external audits
• Tax Monitoring: Assist in tracking and ensuring compliance with tax obligations. Support the preparation and submission of tax filings
• Financial Analysis and Projects: Conduct financial analyses to support decision-making processes. Contribute to various financial projects aimed at improving efficiency and cost savings

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Netsuite or other accounting software is a plus
