Summary

Join Careem's Vertical Accounting Team as a Senior Accountant. You will manage end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accuracy and timely resolutions. Responsibilities include financial reporting and analysis, leveraging Power BI and advanced Excel skills for data-driven insights and process optimization. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical accounting background, 5+ years of relevant experience, and advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is a plus. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with strong expertise in AP & AR functions
  • Technical expertise in accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Index-Match, Macros, etc.)
  • Strong experience in Power BI for financial reporting and analysis
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end AP & AR processes, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, collections, and payments
  • Reconcile vendor and customer accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely follow-ups
  • Monitor aging reports and implement effective collection strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain efficient financial operations
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS
  • Leverage Power BI knowledge to interpret financial data and enhance reporting efficiency
  • Utilize Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Index-Match, Macros, etc.) for data analysis and financial modeling
  • Optimize financial processes through automation and data-driven insights
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of ERP systems to improve financial reporting

Preferred Qualifications

CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification
