Accounting Manager

Summary

Join Brightwheel's growing Accounting team as an Accounting Manager! You will play a key role in preparing financial statements, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance. This role requires a BS in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred), 5-7 years of public accounting experience, and strong knowledge of GAAP. You'll be responsible for tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining internal controls. Requirements

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7 years of public accounting experience
• Accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing and meeting multiple tight deadlines in a fast-growing environment with frequently changing priorities
• Knowledge of GAAP and familiar with financial accounting statements, including consolidation and reporting
• Experienced with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Process improvement mindset
• Experience working with NetSuite Oracle, TaxJar, Avalara, Airbase, Floquast

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and other reports, according to schedule, including consolidation and reporting
• Prepare journal entries related to payroll and other transactions, account reconciliations
• Drive improvement for the month-end and year-end close process
• Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Maintain procure-to-pay platform
• Update sales tax filings for various states
• Assist with audits and tax returns as needed
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
