Summary

Join Mantra Health, an award-winning digital mental health provider, as their new Accounting Manager. This highly hands-on role involves leading the accounting function as operations are brought in-house, establishing best practices for financial reporting, and owning the monthly close process. You will be responsible for accounting and financial operations, accounting systems design and implementation, and will gain exposure to treasury management, FP&A reporting, and tax strategy & compliance. This position offers a unique opportunity to build the accounting department from the ground up as the company scales. Requirements

  • 4-6+ years of professional experience ideally with a mix of public accounting and startup industry
  • Experience in healthcare and/or professional services organizations is a plus
  • You are comfortable with operating across all levels of the accounting function from AR bill collections to financial statement consolidation & reporting
  • You are not afraid of ambiguity and are willing to take the time to understand & build new processes from scratch
  • You understand that mastering the craft is by doing
  • You have a low ego and prioritize the success of the business
  • You understand that your growth coincides with business growth and success
  • You obsess over a high quality work product, while understanding when good enough is warranted
  • While you spend the vast majority of your time executing in the accounting function, you understand that broader business context & understanding is critical to your growth and success

Responsibilities

  • Refine and own our monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes from start to finish, proactively identifying issues and opportunities to improve our close speed and accuracy
  • Own the day-to-day financial operations and streamline the process for customer invoicing, vendor payables, credit charges & employee expenses
  • Lead daily accounting activities including payroll entries, general ledger and bank transactions by ensuring proper recording of transactions in accordance with US GAAP
  • Lead accounting automation projects, focusing on scalable finance and reporting system design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Collaborate on the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial reporting package, which includes variance analysis, gross margin and contribution margin analysis, etc
  • Provide critical support with cash flow management, including forecasting, monitoring liquidity, and optimizing working capital to support business needs across all entities
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax filings ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations
