Accounting Manager

Summary

Join Redpanda's growing Finance team as an Accounting Manager, reporting to the Controller. You will lead day-to-day accounting, manage the books and records, oversee financial reporting, and drive process improvements. This role offers the opportunity to build and grow the team while ensuring compliance with US GAAP. You will own revenue recognition and deferred commission policies, manage the order-to-cash cycle, and support month-end close processes. The position requires strong technical accounting skills, experience in a fast-paced environment, and advanced Excel skills. Requirements

• 3+ years of public and 2+ years of private accounting experience (preferably in software/SaaS)
• Strong technical understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 and ASC 340
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
• Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment (ie. startup or pre-IPO) with ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, and deliver results
• Strong problem solving and interpersonal communication skills, as frequent interaction with both internal and external stakeholders will be required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Own revenue recognition policies and ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 including collaborating with cross functional teams to review customer contracts, structure deals, and assist with customer onboarding requests and related processes
• Oversee the order-to-cash cycle, including invoicing, collections, and cash application
• Own deferred commission policies and ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 340 including calculation of commission payouts and amortization
• Manage general ledger activities and support timely month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
• Assist with tax filings (corporate income tax, business taxes, and SUT), the annual audit, and other ongoing related compliance initiatives
• Identify opportunities for, and assist in the design, documentation and implementation of process or systems improvements to support the company’s growing operations

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with NetSuite and multi-entity structures

Benefits

• U.S. base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $165,000 (CA, NY, WA) and $122,000 - $143,000 (other US locations)
• 100% remote organization
