Summary

Join Quora's Finance Department in Mumbai, India as an Accountant - Payables GL and Taxes for a 1-year fixed-term contract (with renewal possibility). This remote-first position supports Quora's global growth by managing accounts payable, processing vendor invoices, and handling tax compliance. You will perform month-end closing procedures, prepare financial reports, and coordinate audits. Requirements

• Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during some North America hours
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong Excel and data management skills along with Technical Accounting knowledge/proficiency
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to lead and drive complex initiatives
• Attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Perform month end transactions like Bank/Intercompany recon, prepaid, depreciation & forex run, month end accruals, schedules, allocations etc
• Prepare month end reporting pack as per USGAAP & IGAAP and profit recon between USGAAP vs IGAAP
• Preparation of audit schedules and audit coordination for areas handled
• Sharing inputs with tax consultants for TDS/ GST related workings/filings, resolving queries, level 1 reviewer for tax deliverables, payment of taxes
• Data collation for tax notices/assessments
• Assist with secretarial/ FEMA compliances
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, staff claims/ credit card claims, TDS rate application, and vendor query resolution
• Obtain necessary approvals for transactions, maintaining strict adherence to company protocols and policies
• Oversee payment processes (including foreign remittance payments, 15CA/CB coordination) via bank portal and meticulously apply payments in the ERP system
• Manage activation/ deactivation of Corporate Credit cards and maintain the credit card statement to books reconciliation
