Accounts Payable Analyst

Join Newsela as a Remote Accounts Payable Analyst Contractor based in the Philippines and make a real impact by streamlining operations and improving the accounts payable process. You will play a key role in enabling Newsela's growth and scaling efforts, ultimately contributing to the delivery of engaging learning content to K-12 schools. This contract position requires 1+ years of accounts payable experience and strong communication skills. Proficiency in various accounting software and Google Suite is essential. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a problem-solver. Note that this contract role does not include company-sponsored benefits.

Requirements

• 1+ years of accounts payable experience
• Ability to work 8 hours a day, Monday-Friday, between 20:00 - 8:00 GMT-8 (Philippine Standard Time)
• Strong professional-level English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Experience with accounting software including Bill.com, Navan, Ramp, and Netsuite
• Working experience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel formulas and understanding of reconciling transaction data using Microsoft Excel
• Highly organized, problem-solving, detail-oriented, and process improvement-focused

Responsibilities

• Process and code invoices and expense reports accurately and timely
• Help scale accounting operations (processes and systems) as Newsela grows
• Monitor the Accounts Payable inbox, process vendor invoices, respond to A/P inquiries from vendors and employees, manage employee expense reports, and monitor credit card transactions and compliance
• Work with vendors to sign them up for e-payment to ensure timely delivery, and resolve any vendor issues (e.g., invoice approval, routing, receipt)
• Work directly with FP&A to gain insights into business operations and their impact on Newsela’s financial statements
• Monitor and respond to internal Slack inquiries timely

Benefits

Monthly Contract Range: $830 - $1200 USD / month
