Summary

Join Employment Hero as an Assistant Accountant and play a crucial role in the Finance team's operations. Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller, Management Accountant, and other assistant accountants. You will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations, journals, and accruals, gaining exposure to inter-company and FX transactions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, works at a fast pace, and maintains compliance while running day-to-day accounts. We seek a commercially-minded accountant with strong critical thinking skills. Requirements

  • 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Looking to start / currently studying for CA/CPA qualification
  • Relevant degree in finance/accounting

Responsibilities

  • Daily reconciliation of global bank accounts
  • Reconciliation of company credit cards and spend management platforms
  • Supporting Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes
  • Preparing journal entries including prepayments, accruals, depreciation, intercompany transactions
  • Completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations ensuring that all reconciliation issues are investigated and resolved
  • Assist in the external audits
  • Assisting the Finance team with ad hoc tasks and involvement in standardising and optimising financial accounting processes
  • Reconciliation and variance analysis of Company Spends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NetSuite is advantageous
  • Hungry, creative, enthusiastic, and data-driven with a diverse skill set to thrive in an environment of fast growth and ambiguity
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with aptitude to learn and complete work within agreed deadlines
  • Analytical skills to interpret and present accurate financial data
  • Have strong communication, presentation, listening skills and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Possess excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
