Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or above required
  • 7+ years in advertising required
  • May require travel domestically and/or internationally including overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Works with art director(s) to conceive and execute concepts
  • Presents work with comprehensive knowledge and defends work with logic and creativity
  • Establishes productive rapport and communication with clients to ensure strategic intent and narrative integrity for all deliverables
  • Solves day-to-day resource issues
  • Mentors junior staff
  • Leads the creative development of multiple brands, including art and copy, to ensure strategic intent for all pieces is achieved through creative
  • Works with art and copy teams as needed at job initiation, prior to internal reviews, to ensure creative development is on track and in keeping with project brief deliverables
  • Partners with a writer to develop compelling creative concepts
  • Oversees development of concept once original concepts handed off to writer to execute
  • Evaluates others work based on the core criteria: On brand: Aligns with current brand standards, On strategy: Aligns with current creative brief and client-provided documentation, Clear, compelling, and stylish, Extendable and able to flow effortlessly through an entire brand
  • Presents to and communicates with clients without supervision
  • Client communications should lead to a shared understanding of changes needed and next steps for all deliverables. This includes: Articulating story flow ensuring client buy-in, Offering strategic rationale for what was created, Explaining deliberate tone differentiation from competition
  • Responsible for informing AT/PM team when inadequate information exists for particular part of an ask
  • Responsible for strong relationships with other agency team members outside of the creative group along as well as clients
  • Work with other team members to find solutions to challenging problem
  • Takes time to work with his/her direct reports on both areas in need of improvement as well as teaching them to leverage inherent assets
  • Delivers constructive feedback, early/often and in-person
  • Incorporates ideas and makes revisions in response to the feedback and criticisms of clients and team members in a business-like, open-minded manner. Offers well-reasoned and thoughtful critiques of othersโ€™ work
  • Understands product, category and competition so that can easily jump into any strategic discussion
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the brand narrative, key messages and data along with the ability to verbally communicate it internally and to clients
  • Ensures internal understanding of brand narrative as needed
  • Engages in strategic conversations with client
  • Represents creative team with another senior representative of the agency (account, strategy)
  • Participates in new business development opportunities with established clients
  • Promotes, when appropriate, other agency services to established clients (planning, interactive)
  • Assumes a role in new business pitches
  • Develops sound understanding of agency experience and full range of agency capabilities
  • Is clear and consistent in direction and is a role model for the rest of his/her team in terms of work ethic and dependability
  • Works cross-departmentally as needed to bring solutions to team that moves projects forward
  • Reviews portfolios, interviews candidates and works toward the growth of the department and the larger organization
