Summary

Join Skydio's team as an Associate Solutions Engineer and play a vital role in bridging technical discovery and implementation for State, Local, and Education (SLED) market customers. You will focus on demonstrating Skydio's drone product line, understanding customer needs, and creating compelling demonstration plans. This role involves collaborating with product, engineering, and sales teams to deliver autonomous solutions. Responsibilities include handling system demonstrations, leading implementation processes, serving as a subject matter expert, assisting with technical documentation, and acting as a voice of the customer. The ideal candidate possesses a solid technical background, relevant SLED experience, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of implementing new technologies. A Part 107 Certificate and willingness to travel are mandatory.

Requirements

  • Solid technical background in areas including professional drone applications, sUAS C2 and post flight data analytics software, CAD and RTCC “single pane of glass” platforms and API integrations
  • Relevant experience in SLED focused sUAS operation
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adaptable to various audience levels from UAS Pilots to Senior Organizational Leadership
  • Proven track record of implementing new technologies for diverse clients, collaborating effectively with technical teams to meet project timelines
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and best practices for SLED UAS operations
  • At least 2 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience
  • Mandatory possession of a Part 107 Certificate
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time, engaging closely with clients and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Foster a deep understanding of SLED customer needs, pinpointing key success metrics, and orchestrating tailored product demonstrations and field trials to Public Safety Departments, Public Works Departments, and higher Education Institutions
  • Independently handle all facets of system demonstrations, from equipment setup and operation to troubleshooting, ensuring a compelling presentation of our technology's value to customers and partners
  • Lead the charge in system validation and customer implementation processes and successful deployment
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in sUAS operations for law enforcement, emergency response, and infrastructure inspections; offering informed guidance and support
  • Assist in crafting responses for RFIs, RFPs, and other technical documentation
  • Act as a voice of the customer within our team, influencing product development and engineering strategies based on field experiences and feedback
  • Support various go-to-market strategies and business activities as needed
