Summary
Join One Medical as a full-time, remote Integrated Primary Care Behavioral Health Specialist, serving senior health practices in Denver and Houston. You will be a key member of integrated primary care teams, addressing patients' behavioral health needs. Collaborate with physicians, medical directors, and behavioral health leaders. This role involves diagnosing and treating psychiatric and medical conditions, providing education and consultation, managing crises, facilitating group visits, and improving population health outcomes. One Medical offers a supportive environment with smaller patient panels and opportunities for systemic change in healthcare delivery. The position requires a Colorado or Texas license (or eligibility) and a master's degree in a relevant field.
Requirements
- Currently licensed, or license eligible, to practice independently in Colorado and Texas (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC licensure accepted)
- For Psychologists, must be eligible for PsyPact
- For Masters degrees, must be eligible for licensure in other states
- Masters degree in psychology, counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy or related field
- Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions
- Highly skilled in evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy and/or acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing
- Exceptional capacity to multitask, is flexible, and is comfortable with ambiguity
- Strong communication and teaching skills
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, assess, and treat psychiatric and chronic medical conditions, psychosocial issues, and health behavior change through consultation and brief, focused assessment and treatment
- Provide education and consultation to health coaches and clinicians on the basic principles of brief behavioral interventions and reinforcing their use in medical visits
- Evaluate crisis situations and employ appropriate interventions
- Facilitate group-based visits and workshops to holistically address medical and behavioral health needs
- Improve population health outcomes by ensuring all patients and primary care team members have access to behavioral health expertise
- Facilitate and oversee referrals to specialty mental health services and support a smooth transition from specialty mental health services to primary care
- Collaborate with other Behavioral Health Specialists across One Medical Senior Health to improve behavioral health skills company wide
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an integrated care setting is highly desired
