Bookkeeper

Summary

Join a respected Australian accounting and financial services firm as a Bookkeeper with Tax Experience. This growing team needs someone confident in handling bookkeeping duties and supporting tax-related workflows. You will perform day-to-day accounting functions, manage accounts payable and receivable, handle payroll and superannuation, and support BAS and IAS preparation. The role also involves inbox and reporting support, assisting with management reporting and documentation, and ensuring compliance with Australian standards. You will collaborate with the team, suggest workflow improvements, and work remotely in a full-time, dayshift position.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bookkeeping and tax support roles
• Strong knowledge of Xero (Blue) and Xero Tax
• Experience using DEXT, ApprovalMax, and Tanda
• Familiarity with payroll, AP/AR, and BAS/IAS support
• Ability to interpret and adapt to accounting setups (e.g., accrual vs. cash)
• Excellent English communication (written and verbal)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Detail-oriented, self-driven, and process-focused

Responsibilities

• Perform regular bank reconciliations and manual journal entries
• Process accounts payable via DEXT or Hubdoc, and manage accounts receivable
• Handle payroll and superannuation through Xero and Tanda
• Monitor and triage shared finance inboxes
• Assist with management reporting and documentation
• Support BAS and IAS preparation
• Apply tax knowledge in preparing returns for individuals and companies
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian standards
• Participate in internal team meetings
• Proactively suggest workflow or process improvements
