Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a high-growth or SaaS business
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable, invoicing, and VAT
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xero
  • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills for financial analysis and reporting
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, can-do attitude

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and reconcile vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements to the General Ledger
  • Perform month-end close tasks, including preparing journals and ensuring costs are correctly allocated to departments, nominals, and cost centres
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with statutory deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with international sales tax regulations and filing obligations
  • Support customer KYC/AML (Know Your Customer / Anti-Money Laundering) procedures as needed
  • Generate, review, and distribute customer invoices based on contracts, usage data, and sales activity
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments to ensure timely cash collection
  • Prepare supporting documentation for external audits and assist with audit queries
  • Support internal financial reviews and ad hoc reporting requests
  • Contribute to finance-related initiatives, including fundraising efforts, international expansion, and the improvement of systems and processes

Preferred Qualifications

AAT qualification is not required but would be a plus
