Bootcamp Instructor

Summary

Join Codecademy as a remote contract instructor to deliver engaging live online coding bootcamps. You will conduct live classes, develop curriculum, foster student engagement, provide feedback, and assist students with technical challenges. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, at least 7 years of full-stack development experience, and proficiency in various technologies. Prior B2C teaching experience is desirable. The anticipated hourly rate is $75-$125.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of real-world experience in technology companies, leading impactful projects and workstreams
• Proficiency in full-stack technologies including, but not limited to: Front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React, Angular, Vue.js) Back-end: Node.js, Express.js, Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails Databases: SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Firebase) DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passion to share the real-world knowledge you’ve gained!

Responsibilities

• Conduct live online classes for a diverse group of learners, ensuring high-quality instruction and engagement
• Develop and refine course materials, lesson plans, and projects, leveraging our extensive Codecademy library as a valuable resource
• Foster an interactive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student participation and engagement
• Evaluate student performance through assignments and projects, providing constructive feedback to facilitate learning
• Assist students with technical challenges and address their queries both during and outside of class

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degrees are a plus
• Prior experience in B2C teaching or training roles is desirable
• Experience in blue chip tech companies
• AI and LLM related expertise
• Extensive B2C teaching experience
