Summary

Join Oak Essentials as a Summer PR Intern and support the Communications team in various public relations initiatives, including product launches, media outreach, and brand awareness campaigns. Gain practical experience in the beauty industry while contributing to a growing brand. This remote internship (LA or NY preferred) runs from May to August 2025, with a flexible schedule of up to 30 hours per week. The position is unpaid, but school credit is available. You will work on tasks such as updating media lists, drafting pitches, researching press contacts, coordinating product send-outs, monitoring media coverage, supporting events, and participating in team meetings. The ideal candidate is passionate about the beauty industry and possesses strong writing and communication skills.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Experience with Google Workspace

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain media lists
• Draft editor pitches and outreach materials
• Research relevant press contacts and coverage trends
• Help coordinate product send-outs
• Monitor online and print media for brand mentions
• Track and compile press coverage
• Support events and activations
• Participate in weekly team meetings and brainstorms
• Keep a pulse on social media and beauty industry trends

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous PR, marketing, journalism, or communications experience
• PR tools like Muck Rack or Launchmetrics
