Join Trailer Park Group as their experienced Business Affairs Director! This role oversees contract negotiations, risk management, intellectual property, and compliance across multiple regions. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in business affairs, legal, or contract management within an entertainment marketing agency, film/TV studio, or media company
- Proven track record of handling global partnerships and multi-organization collaborations
- Strong understanding of intellectual property, advertising compliance, and talent contracts in the entertainment space
- Experience with union regulations, music/media licensing, and brand integration deals
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple time zones and cultures, managing complex global relationships
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft agreements for global marketing campaigns, talent usage, influencer marketing, third-party licensing, sponsorships, and partnerships
- Oversee all talent agreements and payments to ensure labor and guild compliance
- Oversee agency-client contracts, vendor agreements, and talent releases, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
- Identify and mitigate legal, financial, and operational risks while maximizing opportunities for agency growth
- Live Action Production: review all client and vendor agreements, review storyboards for advertising and legal issues, and work with the internal team and insurance broker to ensure adequate insurance is in place, including special reviews where stunts, animals, and minors are involved
- Ensure the company has a current minor permit in applicable jurisdictions
- Work closely with internal teams, including finance, to ensure adequate payment processes and that the company has funds in-house to support production(s)
- Oversee internal training for production, asset purchasing, talent, and fonts
- Develop and ensure best practices for multi-regional contracts, intellectual property rights, and third-party stock, music, and footage licensing
- Partner with internal teams and external counsel to navigate challenges in international business affairs
- Ensure adherence to advertising laws, union regulations (SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA, AICP, DGA, etc.), and evolving digital media policies
- Work closely with creative, production, finance, and client service teams to support business objectives
- Advise internal stakeholders on global marketing campaigns' deal structures, financial implications, and legal guardrails
- Provide guidance on emerging issues in digital content, influencer agreements, and AI-generated media
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with emerging entertainment technologies (NFTs, AI, virtual production, etc.)
- Experience with entertainment finance, profit participation, and backend deal structuring
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure agency environment
