Join QuintoAndar's Finance team as a Business Analyst and leverage your financial expertise and SQL skills to analyze data, build reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will extract, transform, and analyze financial data, translating business rules into SQL queries. Strong analytical skills are essential for understanding financial metrics, developing data models, and creating relevant reports. Proactivity and autonomy are crucial for resolving issues and improving data models. Collaboration with Finance and Data & AI teams is key for alignment and validation. You will balance operational demands with strategic project involvement. The role offers a remote-first work model with flexible office options in SΓ£o Paulo.
Requirements
- SQL Advanced (Focus on data query): Ability to write complex queries (JOINs, subqueries, CTEs, window functions), data manipulation for financial reports (Recon, revenue, expenses, bank accounts) and query optimization for performance
- BI and Visualization Tools: Superset (QuintoAndar's official tool) or any other standard market tool (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, Metabase)
- Financial Data Modeling: Understanding of "core datasets" (certified sources of truth by the Data team) and ability to create queries based on these datasets (e.g., accounting reconciliation)
- Advanced Excel/Sheets (as a complement to SQL): Pivot tables, complex formulas (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX+MATCH), macros
- Education: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Administration, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Engineering or related fields
- Experience: 2+ years in financial analysis (FP&A, accounting, reconciliation), 2+ years in SQL
Responsibilities
- Apply your solid financial knowledge (accounting, reconciliation, financial reports) and your technical skills in SQL to extract, transform, and analyze financial data autonomously
- Translate business, financial, and accounting rules into SQL queries and identify discrepancies in the data
- Possess strong analytical skills to understand financial metrics, develop data models, and build relevant reports
- Collaborate actively with the Data & AI team, using the "core datasets" as certified sources, proposing improvements to data models and specifying the need for new information sources
- Autonomy and proactivity will be crucial to reduce the Data team's dependence on simple extractions and to solve problems using the available data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially with the Finance areas (for alignment of accounting rules) and Data & AI (for improvements and data validation)
- Manage priorities to balance operational demands (such as daily reports) with participation in strategic projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Notions of Data Engineering: Understanding of ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts (Datalake, schemas, fact/dimension tables)
- Knowledge of SAP or other financial ERPs
- Experience in fintechs or startups
