Join phia, a Northern Virginia-based small business, as a Business Development Analyst! This 100% remote role, ideally based in the DMV area, supports the VP of Growth in identifying and developing new business opportunities within the cybersecurity, intelligence, and IT sectors for a government contractor. You will be involved in the entire business development lifecycle, from market research to proposal development. This is a strategic position focused on pipeline development, capture strategy, and proposal efforts, not a sales role. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in business development, capture, or growth strategy in the GOVCON space
- Familiarity with federal procurement processes and contracting vehicles
- Proven ability to identify, qualify, and track business opportunities
- Experience working with a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to confidently engage with senior leadership, teaming partners, and customers
- U.S. Citizenship required
Responsibilities
- Support the full business development lifecycleโfrom market research to proposal development
- Identify and analyze business opportunities by monitoring government contracting platforms (SAM.gov, GovWin, etc.) and maintaining an up-to-date opportunity pipeline
- Conduct competitive analysis and track industry trends to inform strategic pursuits
- Support capture strategy by coordinating outreach, engaging teaming partners, and gathering competitive intelligence
- Engage with customers and partners by attending pre-bid meetings, industry days, and networking events
- Manage and maintain the CRM(Salesforce or equivalent) to track leads, opportunities, and BD activities
- Assist with proposal development by supporting writing, scheduling, coordination, and compliance documentation
- Prepare responses for data calls, RFIs, market surveys, and teaming requests
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting cybersecurity, intelligence, or IT-related contracts
- Understanding of capture planning and proposal coordination within government contracting
- Some college coursework is preferred, but we value experience, drive, and passion for business development more
