Summary
Join Sunstone Credit, a revolutionary commercial solar finance company, as a Manager of Business Development. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will lead the growth of commercial activities by partnering with solar developers. This role involves managing a portfolio of installers, onboarding them onto Sunstone's platform, and collaborating on loan origination. You will build strong relationships, provide strategic insights, and contribute to product development. The position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape a rapidly evolving company. The role is remote or NYC-based, with travel required (6-12 weeks annually). A competitive salary ($120k base and bonus) is offered.
Requirements
- At least four years in a business to business account management role, sales or other customer or client facing roles
- Engaging, confident, and energetic with the ability to create rapport and inspire action
- Thrive in situations that require initiative, thinking on your feet, and adaptation. Excited by building something new and doing something for the first time
- Able to excel while working remotely and independently
- Demonstrated commitment to mission-driven work
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree required
Responsibilities
- Manage a growing portfolio of partner solar installers to originate loans through Sunstone’s platform
- Onboard installers to Sunstone’s platform and train the installer’s team on the use of Sunstone’s products
- Collaborate with installer’s teams to assist in loan origination
- Work with installers to increase the amount of projects they originate that use financing
- Assist installers with obtaining financing on individual projects
- Travel to meet with key partners in person
- Maintain a thorough understanding of customers’ business including needs and sales cycles, and create strong relationships to effectively drive sales and repeat business
- Provide strategic perspective and insight on revenue generating activities while acting as the voice of the customer and helping Sunstone continue to refine its products and technology
- Develop outreach strategy and collaborate on product development
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in fintech, commercial finance or commercial solar
- MBA
